Their attire seems inappropriate for such an outing but it was appropriate for the early 20th century. Directly behind them walk three men in three-quarter length pants and two of them are wearing hats. They may be labourers at the pitch lake. The lake looks bare and flat. There is an oil storage tank and a few trees on the horizon at left. There seems to be a steam boat off shore in the background at right.enPlease contact the Main Library, The University of the West Indies for permission to use the digitized images. wimail@sta.uwi.eduTrinidad and TobagoPostcardsAsphalt industry--Trinidad and TobagoCities and towns--Trinidad and Tobago--La BreaClothing and dress--Trinidad and TobagoMen--Trinidad and TobagoWomen--Trinidad and TobagoOil storage tanks--Trinidad and TobagoHats--Trinidad and TobagoUmbrellas--Trinidad and TobagoPitch[1910]Blue collar workers--Trinidad and TobagoPitch Lake, The (La Brea)On the Asphalt Lake La Brea Point, Trinidad.Image
