The ambulance appears to be a truck with a canvas cover. The sign on the side of it reads “British Red Cross Society. St. John Ambulance Association”. It seems to be parked near to a recreational area with many trees. The British Red Cross, a United Kingdom humanitarian organization, was formed in 1880. When World War One started in 1914, the British Red Cross joined forces with the Order of St. John Ambulance to form the Joint War committee to assist people in crisis, both in the UK and overseas.enPlease contact the Main Library, The University of the West Indies for permission to use the digitized images. wimail@sta.uwi.eduTrinidad and TobagoPostcardsAmbulancesEmergency vehiclesBritish Red Cross SocietySt. John Ambulance Association1915The Trinidad and Tobago AmbulanceImage
