The study addressed student learning achievement in English, mathematics and science—the three core areas in which the GUIDE teachers were upgraded. A sample of 56 teachers from 36 GUIDE schools, 35 mentors, and 15 tutors was used, while the sample of students for the tests comprised 212 (English), 292 (mathematics), and 269 (science). Data were gathered through the use of a classroom observation schedule, a questionnaire, and the achievement tests.
