Sections of the lake are often soft and unsafe to walk upon. The section of the pitch lake in this photograph however, must be a safe area as three well dressed men in hats stand here engrossed in conversation, a few others walk on the pitch and a lady is seated on a mound, her likeness mirrored in the glassy pool behind her. Locals bathe in the rain water pools, deeming these sulfur rich waters able to cure all manner of skin maladies. Stretched across the horizon are various trees.enPlease contact the Main Library, The University of the West Indies for permission to use the digitized images. wimail@sta.uwi.eduTrinidad and TobagoPostcardsAsphalt industry--Trinidad and TobagoCities and towns--Trinidad and Tobago--La BreaPitchMen--Trinidad and TobagoTrees--Trinidad and TobagoWomen--Trinidad and TobagoCoconut palm--Trinidad and TobagoAsphalt--Trinidad and TobagoClothing and dress--Trinidad and TobagoHats--Trinidad and TobagoSuits (Clothing)--Trinidad and TobagoPonds--Trinidad and Tobago[1910]Pitch Lake, The (La Brea)The Pitch Lake of La Brea, TrinidadImage
