Item A New model for evaluating the online tutorial: Does your tutorial reflect your mission?Kerr, Paulette; Varlejs, JanaThe online tutorial has emerged as a ubiquitous representation of information literacy (IL) instruction and often is the visible face of IL programs. Tutorials have been evaluated primarily in relation to criteria of instruction. This presentation asks new questions: Does the tutorial reflect the library's goals and mission for information literacy? Does it do what we say we will do in our mission? The presentation details the process and provides graphic results of the in-depth evaluation of one library’s mission and tutorial. The audience will be asked to participate in an analysis of a library’s mission statement and online tutorial. Participants will leave with a framework and tools to conduct a similar evaluation in their institutions.Item Aaron Joseph Matalon(Mona Library, The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica, 1986)Item Amadou-Mahtar M'Bow(Mona Library, The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica, 1975)Item Angela King(Mona Library, The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica, 1999)Item The association of academic tracking to depressive symptoms among adolescents in three Caribbean countries(2010) Lipps, Garth; Lowe, Gillian A; Halliday, Sharon; Morris-Patterson, Amrie; Clarke, Nelson; Wilson, Rosemarie NItem Bert Norman Mitchell(Mona Library, The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica, 2000)Item Catherine Rukmini Kumar(Mona Library, The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica, 2014)Item Climate change impacts on Jamaica's biodiversity(2016-03-09) Webber, DaleItem Commonwealth and uncertainty: How British and American professional models of library practice has shaped LIS education in selected former colonies and dominionsKerr, Paulette; Carroll, Mary; Afzal, Waseem; Musa, AbdullahaniItem Cyril Lionel Robert James(Mona Library, The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica, 1971)Item Digital domains and new development strategies: revisiting ICT policy-making in the Global SouthDunn, Hopeton S.; Kwame BoafoNational communication planning in Africa must incorporate the latest generation of information technologies, but planning must aim at concrete development results in terms of employment and incomes. For the technology to generate the best results it must be based on institutional changes such as improvement of literacy levels and a type of basic and professional education which requires active reaching out to get information to develop personal knowledge systems. Planning requires multi-stakeholder cooperation involving educational, entrepreneurial, political and community cooperation. Regulation and investment/entrepreneurial opportunities need to be far more flexible and user-friendly.Access to information in government, research centres and other institutions needs to be far more open, available and inviting.Item Dr. Ruby Beryl Viola Luke-Richards(Mona Library, The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica, 2021)Item Earl W.
