    Report of Conference of Principals and Programme Staff, 7th October 1986: Diploma in Education Programme

    This report outlines the proceedings of a conference called to renew dialogue between the academic staff of the Diploma in Education Programme at the University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine and the principals of government and assisted secondary schools from which the students were drawn. The objectives of the conference were to: 1) apprise the principals of the nature and purpose of the programme, and 2) enlist the support of the principals for ensuring that maximum benefits were derived from the programme. The report includes and update by the Head of Department of Educational Foundations and Teacher Education, a panel presentation by representative of the curriculum tutors, the principals’ view, and the staff response. Appendices includes a list of participants and a copy of the programme.
