    Policy Document: School’s Facilities Policy - Design and Maintenancy Policy and Standards for Secondary Education Facilities C Section: Policy, Planning and Maintenance of Education Facilities

    The purpose of this policy is to establish a framework for the systematic and efficient maintenance of education building facilities, ensuring their longevity, improve their energy efficiency, safety, and functionality. It also aims to allocate resources effectively and prioritize maintenance activities provide and maintain, a safe and comfortable teaching and learning environment. This policy applies to all Secondary Education Building facilities owned and operated by The Ministry of Education. It encompasses all physical aspects of these facilities, including but not limited to equipment, classrooms, laboratories, libraries, offices, restrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces. The aims of the policy are to ensure that all education building facilities are safe and healthy for students and staff, maintain education building facilities in good condition to extend their useful life, minimize disruptions to teaching and learning activities due to facility maintenance issues and provide a cost-effective approach to facility maintenance.
