Item Report of the Second Meeting of CXC/USAID Local Coordinators held at CXC, The Garrison, Barbados, August 8-9, 1983(Caribbean Examinations Council, 1983) Caribbean Examinations Council. Headquarters;The purpose of the CXC/USAID Project was to improve the quality of curriculum and instructional approaches used in secondary schools in the Caribbean. It was intended to assist Caribbean governments, through the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC), in developing new syllabuses to meet the demands of the new examination system, to provide opportunities for teachers to be oriented to the new syllabuses, and to be involved in producing materials to facilitate the implementation of the syllabuses. The report identifies the ways in which territories benefited from the project, for example, through regional and subregional workshops and materials production.
