"Boogsie" states that the band will need approximately $500,000 to prepare for competition. Phase II is the most successful unsponsored band winning Panorama on several occassions. The band is currently unsponsored, Petrotrin had signed on as sponsor but this ended in 2005 and Digicel in 2006.Item Phase II Shares Licks.(Express, 6-Feb-07) Bowman, Wayne; The University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus, Trinidad and TobagoPhase II Pan Groove wins the Large band category with a score of 280 points, in the semi-final round of the National Panorama Championships. They performed ‘Sharing Licks’ which was composed and arranged by Len “Boogsie” Sharpe. Trinidad All Stars came in second receiving 278.5 points performing De Fosto’s "Pan Lamentation" arranged by Leon "Smooth" Edwards. No bands from either Tobago or San Fernando were selected. A full list of the results is also stated in this article.Item Smooth Start to Pan Prelims(Express, 27-Jan-07) Bowman, Wayne; The University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus, Trinidad and TobagoThe preliminary round of judging for the 2007 edition of Panorama kicked off with the adjudicators visiting the Medium and Single Pan steelbands in all of Pan Trinbago's regions. Keith Diaz, Chairman of Pan Trinbago's Northern Region, was responsible for supervising the adjudication process on the night. He said that everything went smoothly throughout the night, save for a couple of first night glitches. This gift comes after years of attempts by the Steelband organisation to get ownership of a parcel of land at Williams Bay, Chaguaramas.
