    Panorama history was made when the National Panorama final was staged. Celebrated steelband arranger, composer and pannist Len "Boogsie" Sharpe has established a record in steelband history by becoming the first arranger to win five titles in Panorama in one year. the Phase II victory was also an historic one as it was the first time an unsponsored steelband has won the Panorama final.

    Invaders Tops Preliminaries

    Trintoc Invaders was able to convince 20,000 pan lovers and five judges that Steve Achaiba's scintillating arrangement of Merchant's 'Pan in Danger' was the best performed piece at the North/East Panorama preliminaries. However, the standard of pan was mediocre and most patrons seemed more contented dancing to the sounds of house disc jockey than listening to pan.
