    The Caribbean Examinations Council considered that there was a need to provide information on its constitution, on its organisation and in particular on its work in organising the Caribbean Secondary Educations Certificate Examinations to be offered for the first time in 1979. This pamphlet seeks to meet this need to explain the aims and purposes of the Certificate, to tell of the varied activities undertaken to establish the examination, and to indicate the success that has attended these efforts up to the present.
