    The State House in Roseau, Dominica is located at the same site of the first government house which was constructed by the British Government in 1776. In 1834 the original building was demolished by a hurricane, now the present renovated structure is one of the major historical and architectural attractions in the capital Roseau, and is used for official and state receptions.     The postcard depicts the Indian River in Dominica. This is the widest river in Dominica and it flows to the Caribbean Sea between the town of Portsmouth and the village of Glanvillia. It is also the river where some of the scenes from Pirates of the Caribbean were filmed. The postcard is showing the river surrounded by trees and a view of mountains behind.     A large town house that once existed at the top of King George V Street in Roseau surrounded by a beautiful garden, on the site of what is now Astaphan's Supermarket. It was initially owned by Dr. John Imray, then converted to a guesthouse by the daughter of a second owner, Dr. Henry A.A. Nicholls. It was eventually sold to Mr. Waddy Astaphan in 1957, was demolished and a supermarket was built and opened in 1960 on the site (Honychurch).

This postcard portrays the village of Soufriere, Dominica, where hills and the coast can be seen.     An early 20th century image of the Victoria Memorial Library (opened 1902). It served as reading rooms before the Public Library was built and housed the sales office of DBS Radio. Front reads: "To wish you a happy and a prosperous New Year from AB Stewart." Mailing address reads: "C. Chambers Esq., Plymouth, Montserrat."
