Abstract: This article notes that school dropout is one of the most crucial issues facing education systems in the Caribbean, and identifies some of the reasons advanced for this phenomenon. It is recommended that stakeholders in the education system in Trinidad and Tobago acquaint themselves with the problems faced by students in order to provide recommendations for structural changes to deal with the dropout problem
