Abstract

These interviews were conducted by Stephen Stuempfle as part of the research for his dissertation: "The Steelband Movement in Trinidad and Tobago: Music, Politics and National Identity in a New World Society" (Doctor of Philosophy, University of Pennsylvania, 1990). The revised dissertation has been published as: The Steelband Movement: The Forging of a National Art in Trinidad and Tobago, (Jamaica: The Press, University of the West Indies, 1995). The tapes were made available to OPReP through Pan Trinbago.
