Abstract

This is a photograph of the pitch lake, at Brighton, south west Trinidad. It seems rain has fallen and ponds have merged to form patterns on the pitch lake. There is very little vegetation. In the background one can see the shed roofs of single story buildings and a few trees. Also in the background, at centre, is a steamer waiting off shore to export the asphalt. In the foreground the pitch resembles rocks
