The postcard shows the Pointe Baleine Hotel. In 1783 Governor Don Jose Chacon granted the Island to Gaspar De Percin. Between 1826 and 1864 a flourishing whaling station was established at Point Baleine. Later the hotel was built owned by Cannings and during World War II, a gunnery was established just above the caves. |
