This photograph was taken at the southern side of the Queen's Park Savannah showing the foremost venue for racing events on a regular basis since 1853. Here hordes of people are watching a race in progress. Horse racing was a fashionable pastime providing glamour, excitement, competition and was a major sporting attraction staged at the savannah until 1994.
