Abstract

This photograph gives a panoramic view of War Memorial Park, Port of Spain, once called the Small Savannah, with its impressive monument. The monument which was installed on 28 June 1924 was placed here in honour of Trinidad and Tobago nationals who served and died in World Wars I and II, 1914-1918 and 1939-1945. The words inscribed on the monument are “In honour of all who served. In memory of those who fell”. At the base of the monument are four steps which lead to four walkways. Behind the monument are a variety of trees, some are palms trees.
