The roadside vendor featured in this photograph is “Mahaball Jeweller”. They are situated on the left of this tree-lined street. The store appears to be owned by a family of East Indian origin, as one of the two ladies tending the shop is wearing a long white veil typically worn by East Indian women in Trinidad. Both ladies are wearing long dresses. There are three children in the shop. They might be children of one of the ladies. There are about seven people in long white clothing walking toward a public transport vehicle which might be either a tram or a bus, which is mid way down the street. One man, standing just a little way off from the shop, is staring down the road in the direction of this vehicle. Just in front of him is a makeshift bridge, over the canal, which might be made of wood. There is a little wooden house on the opposite side of the street. |
