2. At the People’s Progressive Party’s 24th Congress, Guyana’s Opposition Leader, Dr. Cheddi Jagan, criticizes the Soviet Union and wants to build genuine relations with the United States. 3. The British government will attempt to win the support for a $18 billion debt relief at the Group of Seven Economic Summit next Monday in London. The Trinidad Terms is designed to ease the debt burdens of the world’s poorest countries and some Caribbean nations are set to benefit from the new proposal. The President of the United Cricket Board of South Africa, Geoff Dakin, states that he will be disappointed if the West Indies Cricket Board of Control vote against his organization’s bid for readmission to the international council.
