The meeting resulted in Jamaica securing over $60 million in aid to improve the tourism industry and additional aid towards flood relief efforts on the island. Amidst allegations of faulty technical components in the building of two nuclear power plants, Cuban officials insist that since the nuclear project began a decade ago, both the design of the Soviet reactors and the Cuban workmanship have been of the highest quality.
