Abstract

This is a photograph of a racially mixed woman, perhaps she is of East Indian and African origin. She is wearing a jupe-chemise suit with a foulard(scarf) over her shoulders. She is also wearing a beaded headdress with one point which indicates that she is single. Her outfit is accessorized with beaded necklaces, bracelets and earrings. The postcard includes a note dated 3/6/05: "This is a type of coolie here of which there are any number all have jewels in them. John"
