Abstract: Jamaica's Opposition Labour Party is rocked by the resignation of its Chairman, Bruce Golding. Mr. Golding stated that he was disturbed by the lost of creditability in the leadership of the Party. Political analyst, Dr. Brian Meeks comments on the impact of Golding's resignation. Barbados Prime Minister Owen Arthur is set to investigate the use of non-tariff barriers by CARICOM member states to keep Barbadian goods out of their markets. In Belize, gang members have agreed on a truce to bring peace to the city's streets. George Tillett, editor of the Amandala newspaper, comments on this initiative for peace. The International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) is to undertake the investigation into the death of Guyanese historian Dr. Walter Rodney. Mr. Adama Dieng, Secretary-General of the ICJ, spoke on the decision to investigate Dr. Rodney's death. Dr. Rodney's widow, Pat Walter welcomes the news of an independent inquiry into the events surrounding his death. American boxer, Gerald McClellan was critically injured in his world title fight with Nigel Benn.
