Abstract: Pressure is being placed on the Dominican Republic to provide adequate security for ousted President Jean Bertrand Aristide to be able to attend a meeting of the ACP-EC Joint Assembly being held in the Dominican Republic. An 80 year old American dancer is on a fast to protest the repatriation of Haitian refugees. The European Community offer plans of opening up its banana market and Dominica's Prime Minister is expected to speak on the banana issue. Caribbean tourism is discussed and Jamaican churchmen march for peace in Kingston.
