Abstract: Grenadians go to the polls today for the second general elections since the US invasion in 1983 and the political analysts predict a high prospect of a coalition government. Secondly, the inauguration ceremony for the new interim Haitian president, Ertha Pascal-Trouillot takes place in Port-au-Prince with an acknowledgement that the principal task of the new government is to bring about general elections in the country. The report explores the Haitian government’s chances of meeting the electoral timetable and gaining the cooperation of the army. Following the Financial News, Frank Pringle, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism pledges to triple the financial support for marketing the island’s tourism industry in Europe.
