Abstract: The people of Antigua and Barbuda vote today at what may be the last general elections contested by veteran Prime Minister, Vere Bird Sr. The Antiguan opposition parties complain of irregularities in voting procedures. St. Lucia’s opposition labour party leader, John Hunt is in London lobbying on behalf of the Windward Island banana producers for continued preferential treatment when Europe becomes a single market in 1992. At the Canadian enquiry into drug use by amateur athletes, Dr. Jamie Asterfan confessed to supplying drugs to the Canadian athletes. In Britain, three Black Members of Parliament announced the formation a Parliamentary Black Caucus with a focus on Black and Asian communities.
