Abstract: Ken Richards, along with various correspondents and contributors report on international and local responses to the death of Guyana's President Cheddi Jagan. Acting President Sam Hinds who initially broke the news of Jagan's death was later sworn in as President. In a segment by Collin Smith reporting from Georgetown, Dr. Rupert Roopnarine , leader of the Working People's Alliance in Guyana and Frederick Kissoon, political analyst, were interviewed on their views on Jaggan and on the future of Guyanese politics. Segments by Ken Richards and Orin Gordon postulate on the life and career of Cheddi Jagan who established the People's Progressive Party in Guyana in 1950. Past interviews with President Jaggan are also aired. Correspondent Julia Thompson, reports on the reactions of CARICOM leaders following the death of Jagan, and brief contributions are made from the Grenadian Prime Minister, Keith Mitchell, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Denzil Douglas, Dominican Prime Minister Edison James and Guyanese-born British MP, Bernie Clark. In the final segment by Ken Richards, views are expressed from anonymous persons from the Indo-Guyanese community in New York and interviews are conducted with Ricki Singh, Earl Bousquet and Hugh Crosskill. A past interview is also aired in which Jagan responds to a question on sucession, where he puts forward the possibilities of leaders from the youth arm of the People's Progressive Party.
