This photograph shows Sir Hugh Wooding as he greets distinguished guest during a graduation ceremony held at the St. Augustine Campus, UWI. Sir Hugh was an illustrious jurist and a key architect in the process of constitution reform in Trinidad and Tobago. In 1971, Sir Wooding went on to become Chancellor of the University of the West Indies.

In 1964 Sir Sherlock rose from Pro Vice-Chancellor to succeed Sir Arthur Lewis as the Vice-Chancellor of The UWI.
