Anjo, Jose
A large town house that once existed at the top of King George V Street in Roseau surrounded by a beautiful garden, on the site of what is now Astaphan's Supermarket.  It was initially owned by Dr. John Imray, then converted to a guesthouse by the daughter of a second owner, Dr. Henry A.A. Nicholls.  It was eventually sold to Mr. Waddy Astaphan in 1957, was demolished and a supermarket was built and opened in 1960 on the site (Honychurch).

<summary type="text">Dock and Landing, Barbados
Sail ships with tall masts and other sailing vessels line the water front of the docks in Bridgetown Barbados.  The dock is busy with people.  Some are well dressed in hat and suit.  The panoramic scene was taken with a warehouse in the background.  Written on the facing of the stationary card “Sent with five others from a friend of your father’s 29 July 1904”.  On the reverse is the address of “Miss Muriel [Teirfgera?], C/o Mrs. Mc Gregor, Inverleith Terrace, Edinburgh, Scotland (Postmark 1904) and a small red one penny stamp.

Barbados Mutual Life Assurance Building and Bridgetown Club on Lower Broad Street, Bridgetown, Barbados.  This building also housed one of the Cable and Telegraph offices. Handwritten on back: "This is a large office building to the Western part of Bridgetown. Also containing one of the Cable Telegraph offices".

<summary type="text">The Barbados Aquatic Club, Barbados.
A view of the club house from the ocean. The Aquatic Club was a social club frequented by mainly white middle class Barbadians in the early to mid 20th century.  Blacks were not allowed entrance to the Club.
